Does The Edgewater Resort & Spa provide an airport shuttle service?Yes, there is an airport shuttle that runs at scheduled times. A fee of NZD 52 per adult return and NZD 30 per child (2-11 years) return applies. You also receive a souvenir water bottle and a neck ei (flower garland) and porterage. Please note that the shuttle service is operated by Raro Tours, not the resort. Alternatively, taxis are available for NZD 30 per person one way between the airport and the resort. Taxi stands can be found in the arrival hall at the airport. Note: If you are booking within 72 hours of your arrival date, the airport shuttle service cannot provide a neck ei.

What time is check-in?Check-in is from 2:00pm. A charge applies for an early check-in (amount may vary, subject to availability).

What time is check-out?Check-out is at 10:00am. Late check-out is available at a charge (amount may vary, subject to availability).

Is there a fee when making payment with a credit card?Payments made on site at the resort by Credit Card or international Debit Cards will incur a payment administration fee of 3.5%. An ATM is available in the resort lobby for cash withdrawals. All major credit cards are accepted in the Cook Islands except American Express & Diners Card.

What is included in the continental buffet breakfast?No matter how you book, our continental tropical buffet breakfast is always included. On the buffet, you have an assortment of fruit, cereals, toast and spreads, yoghurt, bircher, pastries, juices, tea, and coffee.

What is the maximum occupancy in your rooms and villas?We can accommodate up to 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (12 years and under) in our rooms. In our villas, we can accommodate up to 6 people - this includes children and infants.

What is the bedding configuration in your rooms and villas?The bedding configuration in our rooms is one queen and one single. Where there are 4 people in the room, we are able to add another single bed. In our 3 bedroom villas, the bedding configuration is 2 queens and 2 singles.

What activities are there to do at the resort?You can expect activities such as fish feeding, drumming lesson, ei katu (head garland) making, sarong tying, island dancing lesson, raw fish demonstration, ukulele lesson, weaving lesson, and more! Please check the Activities board at the Activities Hut located poolside or pick up a copy of our “Edgewater Daily” at reception or the brasserie.

Can we find free water stations around the resort to fill up our own bottles?We now have two free water filter station at the resort for you to refill your own bottles so you can stay hydrated. There is a water station located in each laundry.

What are the opening hours for the Activities Hut?The Activities Hut operates daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

What is provided to guests at the Activities Hut?Other than providing cultural information and insight into traditional Cook Islands activities, the hut also provides our guests with snorkelling gear, reef shoes and beach towels.

Is it safe to snorkel in the resort's lagoon?Generally, snorkelling in the lagoon around the island is safe. The resort's lagoon is a marine reserve that offers the ideal place to swim or snorkel amidst the myriad of beautiful tropical fish. We advise all our guests not to venture out past the encircling coral reef alone. It is highly recommended that guests wear reef shoes while swimming or snorkelling. Guests are also advised not to touch coral or other sea creatures.

What are the opening hours for the Coconut Kids Club?The Coconut Kids Club operates three sessions a day, Monday to Saturday. Hours are 9:00am to 12:00 noon, 2:00pm to 5:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Do you offer babysitting services?Yes, we do. It is $15 per hour per child or $20 per hour for 2 children. It is an additional $5 per child per hour if there are 3 or more children. If there are 4 or more children, this will require 2 babysitters depending on their ages. Note that the babysitters will be taking care of the child/children in your room.

Can we hire vehicles from the resort?There is a rental company onsite – Polynesian Rentals – where you can hire cars, scooters and bicycles. To enquire or book in advance, email reservations@polynesianhire.co.ck.

Are car seats required for baby's/toddlers?By Cook Islands law children are not required to be in car seats. Can we book tours and excursions at the resort?The Activities Hut located poolside is equipped with information on some of Rarotonga’s more popular tours and excursions. Bookings may be made with the onsite team at Polynesian Rentals.

Does the public bus stop at the resort?Yes, both the clockwise & anti-clockwise public bus comes through reception at 40 minutes past the hour. But keep in mind, you're on island time! Please note that buses do not operate on a Sunday.

What restaurants are nearby?Other than the resort brasserie and Spaghetti House, the nearest restaurants are Kikau Hut, Tumunu and Flambé - all within walking distance.

Is smoking permitted in my room?Cook Islands Law prevents us from allowing smoking in any of our Rooms, Suites and Villas. This includes the use of smokeless tobacco vapour, and e-cigarettes. Smoking and vaping is also prohibited in our restaurants and public dining areas. We have made available ash trays in designated areas around the Resort. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all guest rooms including the balconies.

Is Rarotonga over the date line?Yes, it is. The Cook Islands is just to the east of the International Date Line and is ten hours behind Greenwich Mean Time. This puts them in the same day as the U.S and a day behind New Zealand and Australia.
