The Edgewater Resort & Spa hosted a group of 41 delegates who were part of a 75-strong delegation travelling with NZ’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr Murray McCully on his annual Pacific Mission. Rarotonga was one stop on a tour of the Pacific promoting the 2011 Rugby World Cup and Rugby in the Pacific. All Black legends Jonah Lomu and Ofisa Tonu’u and Black Caps cricket legend Martin Snedden were part of the delegation. Apart from treating 100 local students to some rugby training sessions, they spent a lot of time putting smiles on locals faces, autographing anything from shirts to rugby balls, and being photographed with them. The Edgewater Resort & Spa staff were no exception. A string band welcomed the delegation when they arrived at Reception, with General Manager Chris McGeown getting into the swing of things on the base drum as well.
